Geography

Our Geography curriculum is designed with the following aims in mind:

Intent:

• Children will be expert geographers

• They will be able to recall key facts about people, places, resources and environments

• They will have a deep understanding of the links between physical and human processes, identifying changes over time

• They will confidently and accurately use geographical terminology

• Children will be skilled in interpreting geographical sources

Implementation:

• Geography will be taught in the context of a wider topic

• Children will be taught geographical language, relating to location and place, in the context of their learning

• They will understand, interpret and draw conclusions regarding the relationship between physical and human geography

• Children will develop and apply geographical skills in fieldwork to deepen understanding

Impact:

The impact will be seen through:

• Children who are passionate when learning about human and physical geography

• They want to have a positive impact on physical geography and know the role humans play in this

• They accurately and efficiently choose and apply geographical skills in practical fieldwork

• They can recall key geographical facts and vocabulary
